Angers Field Trip

On Thursday I went with my classes from Langeais and their English exchange students to Angers, a mid-sized town an hour west of Tours. Angers has a beautiful cathedral, an old-town, and a medieval fortress that houses the longest medieval tapestry in the world, the "Tapestry of the Apocalypse." The city sits on the banks of the Maine River.

The cathedral from a bridge over the Maine.

Anger's medieval fortress.

From the ramparts.

Inside the castle walls.

We took a cruise on the Maine and went through some beautiful countryside.

The magnolias were blooming outside the Musée de Beaux Arts.

Hello Brendan
It's Thomas Le Bris, the young biology (and geology) teacher of Montbazon.
I watch your blog sometimes, and i've just seen the pictures of angers.
I came from angers, and i wonder if i can take the one from angers, to show them : they're beautiful !
Otherwise, my grandmother live in granville. The photo of granville have made me thinking about her. As she learns english, and likes photos i'll give her the link of your blog! :).
Last thing... didn't you go to Saint Malo and Chartres ? Two of the most beautiful town in the world... :)
(you can answer here :) )

Hi Thomas,

Yes of course, no problem! I hope your grandma likes the photos of Granville. I didn't actually get to go to Angers, now I'm sad I didn't because Sarah took really nice pictures of it. We didn't see Saint Malo or Chartres ---- it will have to wait until our next time in France. Glad you are enjoying the blog and good luck in Montbazon.
